Dry January 2026: Where to Find Great Mocktails in Philadelphia

While I personally don’t really participate in Dry January, I know plenty of people who do as a way to reset after the excess that is the holiday season. In general, the number of people who don’t drink at all or have significantly cut back has steadily been increasing over the years. According to a 2025 Gallup poll, alcohol consumption in the United States has fallen to 54% – the lowest it’s been since they started keeping track 90 years ago. With this downturn, zero proof options on menus across the country have expanded because people want more options than just water and soda! There are a lot more places offering mocktails on their menus in Philadelphia than I expected, including a dedicated zero-proof cocktail bar!

Mocktails, if the place knows what they’re doing, are more than just a few juices mixed together. It’s a science of mimicking the complexity and flavors you’d find in a traditional cocktail, while also presenting them in a way that you’d never know they’re non-alcoholic (n/a)! My husband recently decided to take a short break from drinking, so we’ve spent the last few months trying out different mocktails around Philadelphia. Below I’ve highlighted where we’ve gone so far and ones that are still on our list!

Highlighted Bars & Restaurants

Bar Hygge is a cozy brewpub in the Fairmount neighborhood with a zero proof menu that has lots of variety. You’ll find mocktails, n/a beers, and even some alcohol-removed wines! As someone who loves a nice glass of sparkling wine, I was surprised how great the Eins Zwei Zero Sparkling Rosé was. I never would have guessed it wasn’t a regular glass of wine! If they’d had some available in their bottle shop I would’ve taken a bottle or two home with me. Pair your drinks with one of their mix and match Hygge boards and you’ve got yourself a great happy hour or dinner/date night.

1720 Fairmount Avenue – Fairmount.

If you’re looking to pair some pizza with your mocktails then head to Sally in Fitler Square. This wood-fired pizza place and bottle shop is now in the Michelin Guide, designated as a Bib Gourmand – meaning they have high quality food at a great value. My husband enjoyed his Sally Spritz (made with N/A aperitif, grapefruit, and soda) so much that it was practically gone before I even thought to take a picture of it. So you know it’s good! The only negative? As a bottle shop I’m surprised they didn’t have any n/a wine options on the menu. Hopefully that’s something they’ll remedy in the future.

2229 Spruce Street – Fitler Square.

You’ll find this Schulson Collective Asian fusion restaurant in the bustling Midtown Village neighborhood. Schulson also operates other popular Philly restaurants like Double Knot, Alpen Rose, Harp & Crown, and Prunella. Most, if not all, have zero proof options on their menus as well. If you prefer something a little sweeter, get the Jeju Island – named after the popular South Korean vacation destination. For something more floral and tropical, opt for the Bangkok Bloom instead. If you’re looking for something a bit more casual, head down the alley next to the restaurant where you’ll find Graffiti Bar. This popular year-round outdoor bar is known for it’s happy hour and has a similar menu to Sampan, just a little smaller.

124 South 13th Street – Midtown Village.

Since you’ll already be in the area, why not keep the night going with a stop at this vegan cocktail bar across the street? It’s safe to say that Charlie was a sinner is hands down one of my favorite bars, not just in Philly but around the world. It’s dark, moody, and cozy, the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks or a date night. While their mocktail list isn’t huge, the options all have unique flavor profiles like you’ll find in their regular cocktail offerings. My husband tried the Sigue de Fiesta (seedlip tequila, watermelon, grapefruit, lime, sparkling water) and found it light and refreshing.

131 South 13th Street – Midtown Village.

This Southern Thai restaurant in Fishtown is another Michelin guide recommended spot where you can sip some amazing mocktails. The tom kha colada is their delicious take on a virgin piña colada, with turmeric and other Thai spices. While not something my husband was interested in trying, they also have options that are on the more bitter side as well like the lychee negroni with yuzu and n/a gin. The Thai sodas sound super refreshing too, perfect for cleansing your palate between all of Kalaya’s spicy dishes!

4 West Palmer Street – Fishtown.

Other Highly Rated Mocktail Spots

In this section you’ll find some other places in (or near) Philadelphia that I either have heard great things about or have been to before but haven’t tried the mocktails or n/a options yet myself.

1306 North Front Street – Fishtown.

This woman-owned zero proof cocktail bar in Fishtown is the only dedicated n/a bar in Philadelphia. As a result, Bar Palmina understandably has the largest mocktail selection of all the bars and restaurants on this list. I appreciate that they make sure to mention on their menu that not everything is 100% alcohol free, even though the most a drink will have is .5% ABV – similar to what is found naturally in fruit and breads. The True Hand (n/a bourbon, espresso, orange, and cardamom) and Leone’s Negroni (n/a gin, apertif, and sweet vermouth) are high up on my list to try!

8441 Germantown Avenue – Chestnut Hill.

If you are looking for a bit of a caffeine kick with your mocktail, Char & Stave is the place to go. You’ll find options using espresso, matcha, and chai, so there’s a little something for everyone. I personally love their barrel aged espresso, so I definitely want to try the “Old Fashioned”. And a huge perk is you can order any of these drinks to-go!

Char & Stave Chestnut Hill Bar

414 South 2nd Street – Headhouse Square.

Bloomsday is another female-led small plates restaurant and wine bar in Philly’s Headhouse Square/Society Hill area. They offer casual comfort food, with menus that change with the season. While they have a number of mocktails and n/a beers to choose from, they seem to have a similar problem to my complaint with Sally. Considering they’re also a wine/bottle shop, I wish they had a n/a wine option on the menu (based off what I’m seeing online).

530 South Street – Queen Village.

Tattooed Mom is a bar with an eclectic, grungy vibe. The dining area downstairs is calmer, while the bar upstairs is a bit overwhelming with the walls entirely covered in graffiti and stickers. We haven’t been here in quite a few years, it’s one of the first places I recall visiting in Philadelphia as an adult! So obviously another trip is long overdue. The NA Tiki Kitty (pineapple, lime, pomegranate, ginger beer, and soda water) is probably what I’d end up trying myself – it sounds delicious!

1206 Frankford Avenue – Fishtown.

R&D is a chic, moody cocktail bar that is one of my favorite spots in Fishtown. Their cocktails never miss, so I imagine they know their way around a great mocktail as well! My husband is more of a sweet/fruit-forward guy, so he’d likely try the NA Jungle Bird or Virgin Colada. Me on the other hand, I’ve been really into bitter cocktails lately so the NA Negroni would be more up my alley.

743 South 4th Street – Queen Village.

Another vegan spot making the list is Fitz on 4th. It’s a more casual option than Charlie was a sinner and features small plates, cocktails/mocktails, and brunch on the weekends. Their mocktail selection is a bit more extensive than some of the other places I’ve mentioned, making this a great place to check out if you like variety. The Super Fruit Martini (zero-proof gin, super fruit, cranberry reduction, lemon, finished with a silky foam) and Lia’s Lavender Lemonade (lavender, sparkling water, lemon, lavender spring) both sound pretty good to me!

2009 Sansom Street – Rittenhouse.

Wilder is a three-story New American restaurant in the heart of the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. Think seafood, pizza, pasta, chicken sandwiches, brunch, and burgers. During my research for this post I found them on most, if not all, ‘great mocktails in Philly’ lists that I came across. The zero proof section on their menu is the same size as the section for wine by the glass! This spot is on my list to try very soon, with the Doctor’s Orders (Lapsang souchong, ginger, honey) and Bitter Symphony (n/a spirit, DHOS Bittersweet, orange soda) both catching my eye.

611 Righters Ferry Road – Bala Cynwyd.

While not in the city, Lark is right across the river from Manayunk in Bala Cynwyd so I felt I had to include it. The food here is amazing and I’ve already done an entire post about it! Having a great mocktail menu is super important to the restaurant’s chef-owner, as he’s been very open about being sober for years.
